Anne-Marie joined the Greenspring community as a parent in 2017. Quickly she became a believer in the Montessori philosophy by witnessing her own children flourish into confident and independent learners. She now serves as a Guide in the Adolescent Community.
Since 2010, Anne-Marie has taught in conventional classrooms at the middle school, high school, and college levels. In that time, she has also enjoyed teaching ballet and jazz dance to learners ranging from ages four to eighteen, in addition to choreographing for student theatre. Her areas of expertise are also her lifelong passions: English and Spanish languages and literatures, as well as arts education. Her favorite teaching moments are those when students discover their powers of self-expression. She feels fortunate to expand her pedagogical practice by learning alongside our creative and mindful Greenspring Guides.
Anne-Marie serves as a Lead Volunteer at ShareBaby, where she partners with community organizations to ensure that all Baltimore families have the resources they need to thrive. She enjoys reading children’s and young adult literature, visiting art museums, attending musical productions, and practicing her writing craft. At home, she relishes time with her husband and two children, who are her inspirations and best teachers.
