Gretchen Forbes-Soirez joined the Greenspring Montessori School community in 2016 as a parent in our Children’s House community. After seeing her daughter, and later her son, grow in the Montessori environment, Gretchen took the AMI Assistants to Infancy training at Washington Montessori Institute to gain a better understanding of the Montessori pedagogy. In the spring of 2018, Gretchen joined the Greenspring Montessori team as a Floating Assistant, then transitioned to working as a Children’s House Assistant.
“I am excited to be part of the Greenspring community in a new capacity. I love Montessori’s wholistic educational approach. What a privilege to be with children as they learn and grow and as they grow in their love of learning!”
Prior to joining the faculty and staff at Greenspring Montessori, Gretchen worked in private practice and at local agencies for over 15 years as a Marriage Family Therapist offering counseling services to families and couples. She worked predominately with Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders helping mothers and families transition to parenthood. She also worked several years at summer camps with youth ages 5-16.
Outside of school, Gretchen enjoys biking with her husband and kids, now in Lower Elementary and Children’s House. Plus, she is currently learning Chinese!
