Summer Programs at Greenspring Montessori

Greenspring Montessori School is offering summer programs on campus for children ages 18 months to 12 years old. Programs are reserved for children enrolled in the 2024-25 school year at Greenspring Montessori School.

Summer Toddlers (18 months – 3 years) – WAITLISTED

Our Programs fill very quickly. If a program is waitlisted, we will indicate it below. We encourage you to register for the waitlist if a program is full. Families on the waitlist will not be charged a deposit unless a space becomes available.

Toddler Program – WAITLISTED

18 months – 3 years

Half Day: 8:30am – 12:00pm*
Full Day: 8:30am – 3:30pm*

The Toddler Summer Program is now waitlisted. We encourage you to register for the waitlist. Families on the waitlist will not be charged a deposit unless a space becomes available. 

Whether you are interested in extending your child’s Montessori learning experience into the summer months or you are new to Greenspring Montessori School and looking to introduce your child to the classroom, our Summer Toddler programs are an excellent way for your child to engage and explore. Children work with hands-on classroom materials while striving to develop motor skills, language abilities, and socialization skills. They also enjoy songs, stories, and outdoor play.

*If your Toddler is currently enrolled as a Half Day student for the 2023-24 school year, they must begin the Summer Program as a Half Day student as well. If you would like to be in conversation about your child moving to a Full Day schedule later in the summer, please make a note of this in your child’s application. The Summer staff in your child’s group will be in touch with you.

Daily Schedule

8:30am – Drop Off
8:45-10:30am – Morning Work Cycle – lessons in language, movement, and practical life skills
10:30-10:45am – Meal preparation and community snack
11:00-11:45am – Recess
12:00pm – Half Day Pick Up
12:00-12:30pm – Lunch
12:30-2:45pm – Napping
2:45-3:30pm – Recess
3:30pm – Pick Up

Explorers Program – WAITLISTED

3 – 5 years

Full Day: 8:30am – 3:30pm

Our Explorers Program offers a fun, nurturing environment in which to learn and play. Come explore science, nature, history, and geography; create music, art, and craft projects; and learn skills through cooking and recreational sports. They also enjoy songs, stories, outdoor play, and water days.

Children must be completely toilet-independent before entering the Explorers Program.

Creative Arts Program

6 – 12 years

Session I ONLY (4 weeks): June 24, 2024 – July 19, 2024

Full Day: 8:30am – 3:30pm

Our Creative Arts Summer Program offers a fun, nurturing environment giving students an opportunity to explore their inner artist. This will include drawing, painting, pottery, printmaking, cooking, music, and recreational sports. In addition, students will enjoy connecting with nature during outdoor play, Wheels Day, and Water Days.

The Creative Arts Program will be led by our Creative Arts Guide, Jackie Dorr.

Important Information

Payment Information
A $500 non-refundable deposit per session will be billed to your FACTS account shortly after your registration. The remainder due for your sessions will scheduled for payment in your FACTS account on May 1st. The program must be paid in full before May 15th in order to confirm your child’s placement.

Refunds
Should you need to cancel your registration, there is a $500 non-refundable deposit per session. Due to the limited number of spots, there will be no refunds available after May 1st. We will not be able to offer refunds in the case of emergency closings or delays.

Waitlists
Our Programs fill very quickly. If a program is waitlisted, we will indicate it on this page. If you are placed on a waitlist, we will email you as soon as possible to let you know. Waitlisted students will not be charged the deposit unless a space becomes available. We encourage you to register for the waitlist if a program is full. Families on the waitlist will not be charged a deposit unless a space becomes available. 

Medical Information
If you are new to Greenspring Montessori School, you will receive a link in the spring to complete your child’s medical information including emergency contact information, any allergies, and medication authorization to be signed by your child’s pediatrician. This section will need to be completed by June 1st for all children in the Summer Programs.

If your child is enrolled in the 2023-24 school year, there will be no additional medical information required for the 2024 Summer Programs.
