Greenspring Montessori School is a community built by a community that cares. The Trustees believe that what our world needs is more Greenspring Montessori in it.  The creative, innovative, caring leaders of tomorrow should, and will be, our students of today. Meet our Board of Trustees

Our Board of Trustees is an integral part of our team at Greenspring Montessori School. As a nonprofit organization, Greenspring Montessori School is governed by a Board of Trustees responsible for setting the school policies and overseeing its management. The Board works closely with the school’s leadership to ensure Greenspring remains a thriving school community for years to come. Get to know the members of our Board below.

Mark Berman

Joined the Greenspring Community in 2012

Mark Berman is the CEO and Founder of FutureFeed, a modern compliance platform focused on NIST and other compliance standards.  Design thinking, innovation, and decision-making are principles driving impact in each organization where Mark has been able to have influence. Mark supports the Baltimore community in which he lives and supports education initiatives. Mark strives to inject innovation into education to ignite creativity in every child.

Lori Baylin

Lori helps to guide people on their healthy living journey to live their healthiest, fullest, and longest life. Lori holds a background in social work and child and family studies. Having two children grow up at Greenspring Montessori School, Lori saw firsthand the unique gifts that a Greenspring education provides to children.

Nigel Sequeira

Executive Committee Member
Joined the Greenspring Community in 2020

Nigel is an Executive Function Coach who works with children and adults to help individuals use their strengths to navigate their challenges. He was drawn to Greenspring by the magnetism of what is happening here. The school philosophy is very much what he aspires to and he loves the magic that happens on campus. Nigel is passionate about supporting the mission of the school and look forward to many fruitful years on the board.

Terri Kellogg

Joined the Greenspring Community in 2014
Terri is a writing professional with a focus on copyediting. She has two children – one a graduate of our Adolescent Community and one enrolled in Upper Elementary. As a graduate of the public school system, Terri is drawn to the progressive model that Greenspring offers children.

Shawna Trader

Joined the Greenspring Community in 2014

Shawna has been a health and safety consultant for the past 18 years, traveling all over the continental United States. She has two children at Greenspring  in Lower Elementary and our Adolescent Community. She spends much of her time coaching soccer and lacrosse. 

Siamack Gharanfoli

Joined the Greenspring Community in 2021
Siamack is a  retirement and health plan investment specialist. He has a strong desire to contribute to the next generation of society through volunteering as a member of the Board.

Taryn Montoya

Joined the Greenspring Community in 2023
Taryn is an accountant with over ten years of experience. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Maryland. Taryn and her family live in the Hampden neighborhood of Baltimore where they recently welcomed a baby boy!

Patrick Sheridan

Joined the Greenspring Community in 2023
Patrick is a litigator in the Higher Education Division of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General. He is a former Jesuit Volunteer who taught middle school for two years in Micronesia. Patrick became involved with Greenspring Montessori School because he is interested in an organization where education is valued and celebrated. He is passionate about city living and he loves biking.

Cameron Denton

Joined the Greenspring Community in 2023
Cameron is a senior real estate acquisition, finance, and development professional with over 25 years of experience. He is a product of Montessori education and look forward to serving Greenspring Montessori School as a Board member.

Simeon Brodsky

Joined the Greenspring Community in 2024
Simeon culminated his 30+ year career in education at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth (CTY) in the role of Senior Advisor for Strategy and Innovation. Greenspring’s purposeful approach to education closely aligns with his belief in the importance of igniting curiosity, nurturing talent, and creating the next generation of leaders and problem solvers. Simeon is also the parent of two Montessori-educated daughters.

Jon Goldstein

Joined the Greenspring Community in 2025
In his role at Johns Hopkins, Jon Goldstein represents all divisions of the university in international fundraising and alumni relationship efforts. Prior to coming to this role in 2017, he spent 8 years at the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth (CTY) as Deputy to the Director for CTY International. Prior to that, Jon was a history teacher for 11 years at two independent schools: Bryn Mawr School for Girls in Baltimore, and Loomis Chaffee School in Connecticut. Jon has BA and MA degrees from the Johns Hopkins Krieger School of Arts and Sciences.

Ethan Frey

Peter Kwiterovich

Joined the Greenspring Community in 2025
During his 30+ years as an educator, Peter has been a teacher, coach, and administrator at a variety of different schools: co-ed, to all boys, from day school to boarding school. He is excited about partnering with members of the GMS community and discovering first-hand the wonderful school culture in action. Peter lives in Baltimore, Maryland with his wife, their three children, and cats, Murray and Reggie, and dog, Missy.
