Kimberly Zerfas is the Director of Marketing and Communications at Greenspring Montessori School. She joined the Greenspring team in 2015 and enjoys using photography, graphic design, writing, and storytelling to share the school’s mission with the greater community.

As Greenspring’s commitment to outdoor learning has grown, Kim’s work has expanded to include communications for the school’s environmental initiatives, grant writing, and supporting the development of outdoor learning environments across the seven-acre campus. She enjoys bringing together her background in design, communications, and natural resources to help tell the story of how children learn through meaningful experiences in nature.

Prior to joining Greenspring, Kim worked as an event photographer and marketing professional for a farm-to-table organization in Washington, D.C.. She is drawn to mission-driven organizations that value education, sustainability, and community.

Kim has enjoyed seeing the Montessori method unfold with her own children. Her two sons have been enrolled at Greenspring since they were 18 months old – one is now in Children’s House and another is in our Lower Elementary program. In and away from work, Kim enjoys being in the natural elements. She loves hiking, biking, and camping with her family and their dogs.
