Summer Programs at Greenspring Montessori

Greenspring Montessori School offers summer programs on campus for children ages 18 months to 12 years old. Programs are reserved for children enrolled in the 2026-27 school year at Greenspring Montessori School.

Toddler Program
18 months – 2 years*
Half Day: 8:30am – 12:00pm**
Full Day: 8:30am – 3:30pm, napping program**
Whether you are interested in extending your child’s Montessori learning experience into the summer months or you are new to Greenspring Montessori School and looking to introduce your child to the classroom, our Summer Toddler programs are an excellent way for your child to engage and explore. Children work with hands-on classroom materials while striving to develop motor skills, language abilities, and socialization skills. They also enjoy songs, stories, and outdoor play.
The Toddler Program is a napping program in the afternoons from approximately 12:30-3:00pm.
*If your child is 3 years old by June 1, 2026, please register your child for the Explorers Program.
**Toddlers currently enrolled as a Half Day student for the 2025-26 school year must begin the Summer Program as a Half Day student as well. If you would like to be in conversation about your child moving to a Full Day schedule later in the summer, please make a note of this in your child’s application. The Summer staff in your child’s group will be in touch with you.

8:45-10:30am – Morning Work Cycle – lessons in language, movement, and practical life skills
10:30-10:45am – Meal preparation and community snack
11:00-11:45am – Recess
12:00pm – Half Day Pick Up
12:00-12:30pm – Lunch
12:30-2:45pm – Napping, required for Full Day children
2:45-3:30pm – Recess
3:30pm – Pick Up
Explorers Program
3 years*
Full Day: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Our Explorers Program offers a fun, nurturing environment in which to learn and play. Come explore fun activities including science, nature, music, art, craft projects, cooking, and recreational sports. They also enjoy songs, stories, outdoor play, Wheels Day, and Water Days.
Napping is optional for children in our Explorers Program.
Children must be completely toilet-independent before entering the Explorers Program.
*If your child is 3 years old by June 1, 2026, and they will be entering their first year of Children’s House in 2026-27, please register your child for the Explorers Program.

Elementary Program
6 – 12 years
Full Day: 8:30am – 3:30pm
Our Elementary Summer Program offers a fun, nurturing environment, giving students an opportunity to explore their interests in art and sports. In the morning, children will learn a variety of team and individual sports such as soccer, basketball, pickleball, and more. They will work on skill building drills, games, and friendly competition amongst peers. This camp will also have an emphasis on developing specific athletic skills such as leadership, sportsmanship, and communication! In the afternoon, children will work on artistic projects including drawing, painting, pottery, printmaking, and recreational sports. In addition, students will enjoy connecting with nature during outdoor play, Wheels Day, and Water Days.
The Elementary Program will be led by our Creative Arts Guide, Jackie Dorr, and our Physical Education Guide, Bry Huston.

Important Information
2026-27 Enrollment
Summer Programs are exclusively reserved for children who will be enrolled in Greenspring Montessori School for the 2026 school year. If you have a special circumstance, please reach out to Liz Stuckey at estuckey@greenspringmontessori.org.
Payment Information
A $500 non-refundable deposit per session will be billed to your FACTS account shortly after your registration. The remainder due for your sessions will scheduled for payment in your FACTS account on May 1st. The program must be paid in full before May 15th in order to confirm your child’s placement.
Refunds
Should you need to cancel your registration, there is a $500 non-refundable deposit per session. Due to the limited number of spots, there will be no refunds available after May 1st. We will not be able to offer refunds in the case of emergency closings or delays.
Waitlists
Our Programs fill very quickly. If a program is waitlisted, we will indicate it on this page. If you are placed on a waitlist, we will email you as soon as possible to let you know. Waitlisted students will not be charged the deposit unless a space becomes available. We encourage you to register for the waitlist if a program is full. Families on the waitlist will not be charged a deposit unless a space becomes available.
Medical Information
If your child is enrolled in the 2025-26 school year, there will be no additional medical information required for the 2026 Summer Programs. If you are new to Greenspring, we will reach out to you regarding the medical paperwork necessary for your child to attend our summer program.
