Fond Farewells for the 2023-24 School Year

As we look ahead to the 2024-25 school year, we must also say goodbye to some dear friends who will be moving on to new adventures. At Greenspring, we pride ourselves on being a community dedicated to lifelong learning and supporting the growth of every individual. While we are sad to share that these folks will be moving on from our community, we have heard over and over again how being at Greenspring has given these individuals the confidence and leadership skills to pursue their true calling. We celebrate them for their accomplishments!

Brad Choate

Tutor
Dungeons & Dragons Program Instructor
Greenspring Parent

Brad will be moving to Massachusetts this summer to be closer to his family. Brad has given so much of his heart and time to supporting our students at Greenspring. Whether it be in reading or math tutoring, Dungeons and Dragons, telling the Great Stories, and evening testing, Brad has touched the lives of so many children and adults at Greenspring over the past 6 years. We are deeply grateful for all he has given our community.

Stella Hendricks

Naturalist
Discovery Assistant

Stella will be moving on to pursue a new role as farm production apprentice at BLISS Meadows in Baltimore where she can further cultivate her love and passion for nature, deepen her knowledge of sustainable practices, and learn beekeeping. She brightened many children’s drop-offs at Morning Discovery, took a leadership role among the Naturalists and her devoted care of our outdoor environment made it a beautiful haven for us all to enjoy.  Stella was an involved member of Greenspring’s Green Team where she helped our school to achieve the MD Green certification and bring our Nature Center to life. Staff and children are drawn to Stella’s kind heartedness, meditative disposition and contagious love of nature and sense of wonder.

Natalia Torres

Toddler Dual Language Assistant

Natalia will be moving to Barcelona, Spain to pursue a Master’s degree in International Business Management. She wishes to continue her family’s legacy of running successful businesses and is excited to learn more about managing people and organizations. Natalia’s warmth, happiness, and smile will be missed at Greenspring along with her dedication to staff and students. Thank you to Natalia for her contributions to Greenspring and for enriching our Dual Language community.

Jackie Kelly

Toddler Assistant

Jackie will be moving on from her position at Greenspring at the end of the school year. She has brought much love, kindness, and connection to our children and community this year. We are deeply grateful to Jackie for supporting the Cherry Blossom classroom this year. We wish her all the best in your future endeavors.

Carlin Rosenbaum

Toddler Assistant

Carlin will be continuing her education by pursuing a Master’s degree in Psychology. Carlin has been a warm presence in our community for the past two years. She has worked hard to cultivate the outdoor environment of the Scarlet Oak classroom, shined as she greeted our students and parents in the mornings, and has been integral in watching the toddlers grow, thrive, and learn as they develop at their own pace. As a Montessori child herself, Carlin is eager to bring the lessons learned at Greenspring to the next phases of her life. We will miss Carlin and everything she brings to the community.

Christina Baron

Children’s House Assistant

Christina will be moving on from Greenspring to build her experience at a hospital as a Dietitian Assistant to begin her dietetic journey to become a Registered Dietitian. Christina has been a valued member of our community for the past two years and has been loved by the children and community alike. She has been graceful with the children – singing songs, teaching the children Korean words, sharing stories, and saying good morning to all the families during the morning carline with her warm and welcoming presence. Christina will be deeply missed in our community.

Tatum McLaney

Floating Assistant
Discovery Assistant

Tatum will be leaving the Greenspring community in order to pursue her dream of traveling through Europe. She has been a friendly presence to our children in Discovery and as a Floating Assistant for the past two years. Throughout her time here, Tatum has gotten to know every one of our children on campus and we are grateful for the connection she shares with every individual. We wish her the very best on her new journey.

Caitlin Wallace

Digital Media Producer

Caitlin will be stepping back into freelance videography and photography. She enjoys traveling and is looking forward to exploring the world and working in documentary filmmaking. Caitlin has been a part of the Greenspring team for the past two years, and during her time here she has brought so much joy to our community through her spirit and her work. We are grateful to have her touch present in our welcome back videos, classroom and event photographs, and so much more. We wish Caitlin the very best in her creative pursuits!

As we say goodbye to these Greenspringers, we reflect on the many contributions they have made to our school and the lasting impact they’ve had with our children, adolescents, families, and staff.

While this time of new beginnings is always bittersweet, we are very excited about the journey they will each embark upon.
