Lydia Farmer is a Children’s House Lead Guide. She joined the Greenspring Montessori team in 2014 after receiving her Montessori Early Childhood Credential from the Maryland Center for Montessori Studies (located here at Greenspring!). Lydia also served as a Children’s House Lead Guide at Apple Ridge Montessori School in Catonsville, Maryland before coming to Greenspring. She has been a life-long Montessorian, attending a Montessori school as a child.

Lydia loves art, yoga, gardening, and spending time outdoors with her family. Her husband, Sam, chairs the English Department at Jemicy Upper School, and her son, Cody, is at the Children’s House level at Greenspring. Her newborn son, Desmond, will attend Ridge Country Playschool until he is old enough to join the Greenspring community! She has shown her artwork in various local shows, in venues like The Brewer’s Art in Baltimore and MOCA DC in Georgetown. She has also been a vocalist with The Jezic Ensemble. We are delighted to have her passion and creativity on our team.
