“I first experienced the magic of Montessori as a student in a Children’s House program in Washington, DC. After completing a Master’s in Education, I realized that my preparation would not be complete until I could be trained as a Montessorian as well. Montessori preserves the child’s innate love of learning and respects her incredible capabilities, while honoring each child’s unique spirit.”
Margaret Jarrell has a long history with Greenspring Montessori School and she currently provides Administrative Support. Margaret taught for more than a decade, most recently for five years in our own Lower Elementary Program, prior to taking on the role of Director of Admissions. In 2015, she, her husband, and her newborn daughter moved to Florida after her husband received a wonderful employment opportunity. We were so sad to see her go, so eventually, we worked out a way for Margaret to work part-time remotely. She now turns her considerable expertise to support administrative staff, guides, parents, and prospective families. Margaret also works on special projects and is currently overseeing Greenspring’s reaccreditation with the American Montessori Society and Middle States.
In her spare time, Margaret enjoys swing dancing, baking, going to the movies, and practicing yoga. We are so grateful to have her light brightening the way for members of our community!
