Masters in Education of the Deaf from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts

“It is abundantly clear that the staff at Greenspring Montessori School are an exceptionally engaged, dedicated, and thoroughly welcoming group of educators, and I am humbled to be tasked with championing the big work of equity, belonging, inclusion, and justice here.”

Gray is the Director of Student Support & Equity at Greenspring Montessori School. They first joined the Greenspring Montessori School community as a Toddler parent in 2018 and served as a volunteer on our Parent Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee prior to the pandemic. In 2023, they rejoined the School community as a staff member.

Gray began working in schools in 2004 and holds a wealth of experience teaching in public and private schools. In Massachusetts, they worked as a Special Education teacher at a Montessori Magnet school, as well as a teacher of the Deaf, bringing 11 years of experience in education to Greenspring.

Gray brings extensive experience facilitating workshops that incorporate different teaching practices to engage a variety of learning styles.  They worked as an LGBTQ Patient Liaison at Sinai Hospital where they focused on equitizing practices in healthcare settings. We are grateful for the experience they bring working with children and adults furthering the work of equity and support.

Gray is passionate about supporting, challenging, nurturing, and loving their children and partner. Their professional values and priorities are grounded in feminist, anti-racist, and anti-ableist practices and community connections. They adore children’s literature and feel that picture books, paired with meaningful experiences and a supportive environment, are the best tools for learning and growing. In their free time, they enjoy going on adventures, swimming, and reading with their family.
